Jeannette Painovich, DAOM,
L.Ac., M.A.

Dr. Jeannette Painovich began her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997 and completed her Masters Degree in 2000 and her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2006. She has been in private practice in the Los Alamitos and Los Angeles, California for the past eight years. In Los Alamitos, Dr. Painovich has a family medicine based practice treating both children and adults with a wide variety of health issues as well as a specialty in the area of women's health, gynecology and obstetrics.

In Los Angeles, her specialty and passion is integrative medicine, which is defined as combining mainstream medical therapies with complementary and alternative therapies for which there is evidence of safety and effectiveness. Her practice is hospital-based and in 2004, she founded the first ever inpatient acupuncture fellowship program for doctoral students at Good Samaritan Hospital. In 2006, Dr. Painovich was awarded a grant to conduct a two-year research program at this same hospital which examines the effectiveness of acupuncture in the inpatient setting. This innovative research project was touted as one of the top integrative programs in the country in 2006. Most recently, Dr. Painovich was also awarded a training grant by the National Institutes of Health and is working on acupuncture research projects at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, CA.

Prior to beginning her career in TCM, Jeannette worked as a masters degreed exercise physiologist for 12 years at Good Samaritan Hospital and specialized in cardiovascular disease.
